Each state previously this year was required to create their own “cash for appliances” program. Early results from state show that each state will have different programs some better then others.
Applianceadvisor.com has reported a preview of several states “cash for appliances” program.
The state of New York plans to offer the following.
- Refrigerators: $75 ($105 if the old unit is recycled)
- Freezers: $75 ( $100 if the old unit is recycled)
- Dishwashers: $50 ($75 if the old unit is recycled)
- Package: $500 for 3 appliance package including refrigerator, clothes washer, and dishwasher (if CEE qualified) ($550 if the old units are recycled)
This plan is one of the better one’s going to be offered.
The program is expected to start around President’s Day. Officially named the New York State Energy Efficient Appliance Rebate Program is also being labeled the Great Appliance Swap Out.
