Here’s a cool idea that will appeal to renters and home-owner alike — if you have a functional, but ugly-looking dishwasher and want to dress it up, consider a Dishwasher Wrap from http://www.applianceart.com.

A humorous dishwasher wrap from ApplianceArt.com
The Dishwasher Wrap goes on the front panel and kick plate of your dishwasher and is made of vinyl for durability. It attaches either by magnetic backing or with a sticky adhesive backing. Removing a sticky-backing wrap is more challenging, but magnetic-backed wraps are just grab and go. Some cutting might be involved in order to properly fit your dishwasher, other than that; installation appears to be very easy.
Appliance Art is touting their product as an easy way to change the look of your appliance, without having to get rid of them, thus their product helps to keep appliances out of landfills. However, their product doesn’t come cheap at $44.99 for one dishwasher wrap.
Designs range from solid colors, patterns, and re-creations of famous works

of art like “The Kiss,” by Klimt or Seurat’s “A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte.” Appliance Art can even create a custom Dishwasher Wrap from a family photo.
So far they only offer coverings for dishwashers, however, according to their FAQ page, other appliance type covers are in the works.

This looks great. I bought one of these when my child decided to draw us a nice rendering of the dog in permanent marker on the dishwasher. Its worth the money because every guest has walked through my home and had a comment. I’m just waiting for the holiday ones so I can change them when we decorate for Chirstmas
These are pretty neat additions for any kitchen enthusiast. They are very affordable too, however, are they easy to remove without damaging the original dishwasher cover?
Some of the backings are magnetic, so I imagine it would be extremely easy to remove them. If you are worried about damaging the dishwasher’s door, order a magnetic backed wrap.
Thanks for this write up, I really like these dishwasher covers. The art ones are really cool but not quite what I was looking for. I just wanted to make my working dishwasher match my other appliances so I ordered a white one because my dishwasher is currently a cream color and I don’t want to replace it if it’s working. I was going to order the magnetic cover because it seemed a lot easier but my dishwasher isn’t magnetic so I got the vinyl. Hopefully this will make the wife happy
I hope so too Ian.
I recently visited their site and now they have this awesome stainless steel cover. I am a very conservative person and I can’t wait until it comes in the mail. Thanks for the article!
Hi Guys
This a brilliant concept, one I recently saw applied to garden refuse bins too. Suddenly the black garbage container has got a nice plantscape printed on it, enabling it to blend in with a corner of your garden.
Extending this to interior appliances is a bit of a challenge, as people want the inside of their house to be “nice” and sticking a decal “nicely” is an art few people have.
If you’re thinking of applying the vinyl yourself I would caution against rushing in, but to rather have an expert stick it, or watch them stick vinyl before attempting to do it yourself.
The magnetic alternative is great, provided you’ve got a metal machine. Everything is plastic these days, unfortunately
Take care
