Bosch® and Siemens® Model Dishwashers recalled due to possible fire hazard

Bosch® and Siemens® brand dishwashers sold from May 1999 through December 2006 are part of a voluntary recall being issued today due to a possible fire hazard.

BSH Home Appliance Corporation, manufacturers of the two brands of dishwashers, issued a voluntary recall along with the help of the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. An electrical component in certain models of dishwashers can overheat, causing a possible fire hazard to consumers. So far BSH Home Appliance has receive 30 reports of fires allegedly caused by the dishwasher resulting in property damage. No injuries have been reported.

Consumers should immediately stop using the effected appliances and contact the repair hotline at (800) 856-9226 for a free repair.

The brand name is printed on the dishwasher’s front control panel. Model and serials numbers are located inside the dishwasher door panel on the upper right side.
