Bosch® and Siemens® brand dishwashers sold from May 1999 through December 2006 are part of a voluntary recall being issued today due to a possible fire hazard.
BSH Home Appliance Corporation, manufacturers of the two brands of dishwashers, issued a voluntary recall along with the help of the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. An electrical component in certain models of dishwashers can overheat, causing a possible fire hazard to consumers. So far BSH Home Appliance has receive 30 reports of fires allegedly caused by the dishwasher resulting in property damage. No injuries have been reported.
Consumers should immediately stop using the effected appliances and contact the repair hotline at (800) 856-9226 for a free repair.

My sister’s Bosch dw caught fire & had flames coming out of the control panel. Bosch offered to send a new control panel. If my brother-in-law hadn’t been home the house would have burned down! I think they need a whole new dw furnished by the company.
